The journey. How to get there.
Did you know that Bad Aussee is the geographic center of Austria? This picturesque town in the Ausseerland region can be reached via various routes, which we’re happy to list for you here. When registering for the event, please indicate your departure location and the mode of transportation you’ll be using to travel to Bad Aussee. We’ll calculate the CO₂emissions generated by all participants via Climate Austria and use the proceeds for voluntary climate protection contributions.
Take the train directly to Bad Aussee (Bahnhofstraße 61, 8990 Bad Aussee). If you are travelling from the west (Vienna or Salzburg), please change trains in Attnang-Puchheim. Coming from Vienna, you can either take the A2 (Südautobahn), S6 (Semmering Schnellstraße), A9 (direction Salzburg), Liezen, Trautenfels (junction). Alternatively, take the A1 (Westautobahn) to the Regau exit and pass Gmunden, Ebensee, Bad Ischl, Bad Goisern. Please allow 3 hours travelling time for both routes. From Salzburg, the quickest route is via the B158 via Hof, Fuschl am See, Bad Ischl, Bad Goisern (journey time approx. 1 ½ hours). Here you can find the parking spaces in Bad Aussee.
